While there is life there is hope. Find the doorway, and step through to a better world.

Virtually every one of us has been touched by the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction — mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, extended family, friends and the community.

Many experts in the addiction field say that one of the keys to preventing relapse is to keep the alcoholic/addict away from their using environment and to enable them to embrace the recovery community.

This is the philosophy of The Doorway to Recovery’s transitional housing program and our success shows it.

The founders of The Doorway to Recovery, from our own experience, believe that in order for an alcoholic/addict to maintain sobriety, they must be a part of the 12-step recovery community.  We believe it is simply impossible for the alcoholic/addict to get and stay sober by themselves.  Being a resident of transitional housing is a critical step to the recovery process by allowing men and women to experience a sober living environment.

The Doorway to Recovery is a transitional housing organization that provides recovery housing for men and women who are trying to rebuild their lives — one day at a time — after the devastating effects caused by drug and alcohol addiction.  These men and women, through 12-step recovery work, are desperately trying to break the destructive cycle of addiction.  Doorway to Recovery’s mission is to help these individuals in their efforts.  We have numerous transitional homes throughout Wayne County, housing recovering alcoholics and addicts that are sincerely interested in being involved in the recovery community.
